On the third day after the Crucifixion, the hymn goes:
On this day, the first of days,
God the Father’s Name we praise;
Who creation’s Lord and spring,
Did the world from darkness bring.
The angels again adore
And rejoice.
One angel says to Mary Magdalene,
Why are you here in this cemetery looking for Jesus among the dead?
He is not here
He is alive!
How did the angels rejoice and celebrate?
Do angels dance?
Do they jump for joy?
Do they sing?
Yes surely they sang.
Songs as no one has heard or imagined.
Who could feel so much joy as the angels of God?
True they probably knew what Our Lord had intended and what the outcome
would be.
Just the same,
As they were in awe at what Our Lord did on Calvary,
So did they rejoice at the Resurrection.
For His sake,
because they love Him with a love that is beyond our
knowledge.
Also for our sake.
Because Our Lord had accomplished our Redemption.
That is why there is rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents,
And celebration when you or I would enter Heaven.
Because one of those whom Our Lord dearly loves,
And gave His very life for,
Has arrived safely
And the angels love that soul because that one is beloved of the One
whom the angels love and adore day and night. |
